Modeling has always been my secret ambition for the last few years. I love fashion, the make-up, elaborate hair, and glamour of the industry. I decided in 2010 to pursue modeling by auditioning for America’s Next Top Model. I was not selected because I was considered too big and too old to be a plus size model. I became a little discourage, lost focused and gained about twenty two pounds. I put modeling on hold as a career.
I decided I was going to try to pursue modeling again. My first photo shoot in October 2011 was a great experience until I saw my side profile. I set a goal to lose the twenty two pounds but ended up losing almost twice my personal goal. My motivation to model seemed now a real possibility since the fashion industry is now taking more interest in the average size women. I decided I would seize the moment and joined the plus size modeling movement in March 2012. Modeling gives me the opportunity to showcase my artistic creativity and business experience.
When I’m not thumbing fashion magazines or looking at the latest fashion trends online I try to indulge my other interests. When I have free time available I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, experience and learning anything new, makeup application, reading, sketching, traveling and writing. Recently I have taken an interest in photo visual editing and considering learning photography.
My goals are to pursue modeling as a career to lead to other opportunities in the fashion industry, entertainment, or business ventures. I want to inspire young and older plus size women that you don’t have to be a Size 0 to be beautiful.
